Itential Debuts Latest Release of its Low-Code Automation Platform; Includes Enhanced Capabilities to Further Simplify & Scale Network Automation

New, intuitive automation canvas and advanced configuration management for cloud-native infrastructure, the latest Itential Automation Platform release makes it easier than ever to automate quickly and accurately

LAS VEGAS JUNE 5, 2023 Itential, the leader in hybrid cloud network automation and orchestration, today announced the latest release of its low-code Itential Automation Platform (IAP). The new features enable network teams to deliver and scale automations and enforce network compliance faster and with greater accuracy than ever before. Itential is providing information and demonstrations of the IAP 23.1 release throughout Cisco Live at booth #4402.

The adoption of public cloud network infrastructure within the enterprise is increasing. According to Gartner, public cloud spending will increase nearly 21 percent to almost $600 billion in 2023. Cloud infrastructure brings very different functional and operational challenges compared to traditional data center networks. Managing across these increasingly complex hybrid, multi-cloud networks require networking teams to quickly adopt new skills and practices. As their cloud investments increase, organizations need a consistent and unified approach to managing environments across physical, virtual, and cloud-native infrastructure.

“Itential continues to develop features and functionality to help network teams at every stage of their automation journey; from teams just getting started with their first automations to teams that are already proficient in using Itential to build, test, and publish network automations for self-service,” said Chris Wade, CTO, Itential. “With our latest platform enhancements, Itential is further empowering network teams to extend network management and automation across on-prem and cloud infrastructure — facilitating collaboration and standardization.”

As a vendor-agnostic SaaS solution, the Itential Automation Platform allows customers to build, test, and deploy low-code automation and orchestration workflows for managing deployments, network changes, and configuration and compliance across hybrid, multi-cloud network infrastructure. With the latest release of IAP, customers can now access enhanced capabilities for API configuration and compliance as well as brand new workflow automation capabilities, greatly simplifying how users build and manage automation.

Enhanced API Compliance Capabilities

Today’s modern network includes devices and services such as network controllers, orchestrators, and cloud-based network solutions like SDWAN & ZTNA that can be managed more efficiently through a set of standardized APIs. To ensure these API-managed network elements are configured optimally throughout their lifetime of changes, network teams need a modern set of compliance tools that can communicate using APIs and can operate on the resulting configuration data.

Itential’s latest enhancements to its Configuration Manager application builds upon its already robust API compliance capabilities and greatly simplifies the process of enforcing compliance rules by providing powerful features that allow users to deal with deeply embedded JSON configurations. This enables users to quickly create granular Golden Configurations applicable to any network solution, as well as apply rules across a list of object configurations.

Reimagined Automation Workflow Building Experience

Redefined and rebuilt from the ground up, Itential’s new workflow canvas ensures the best possible user experience based on years of working with customers for optimal workflow design and usability. New features and Automation Studio enhancements such as rich context menus, keyboard shortcuts, and the ability to snap-to-grid and free-float make building workflows more intuitive all while maintaining compatibility with previously created workflows. Additionally, these features make it easier to read and comprehend workflows built by someone else, further enabling cross-team collaboration and enabling network automation efforts to scale.

Additional platform enhancements within the release include support for Blue/Green Architecture, container support for OCI-compliant images that can be managed by your platform of choice like Docker & Kubernetes, Service Accounts for increased security and authorization of northbound systems that utilize Itential APIs, Open API 3.1 support, and expanded Itential Automation Gateway support for the latest versions of Ansible, Netmiko, and Terraform.

Itential products are used by some of the world’s largest networks, including many of the top enterprises, service providers, and financial services companies across the globe. The company was recently named a Futuriom 50 leader in cloud infrastructure, a representative vendor in Forrester’s Infrastructure Automation Landscape, and a Cool Vendor in Gartner’s 2022 “Cool Vendors in Network Automation,” with Gartner citing Itential’s “broad and strong” automation platform as a key reason enterprises and networking operators should consider Itential.
