Itential provides users with the ability to easily bundle any automation workflows to create new Pre-Builts, which can then be leveraged as assets for other platforms, such as in CI/CD pipelines or in other higher-level automations. This allows network automations to become easily consumable assets for your organization and enables network engineers to leverage the same version control practices that other teams utilize.
The process involves using two free, open source Itential Pre-Built Automations. First, Pre-Built Wizard allows users to bundle their automations to create the assets, and then Pre-Built Promotion allows for both promotion and rediscovery of automations to a version control service for use in CI/CD pipelines.
In Part 3 of this ItentiaLearn demo series, see step-by-step how to:
- Make an update to your network automation that’s bundled as a Pre-Built.
- Publish for rediscovery using Pre-Built Promotion and choose what type of merge request and message will be sent.
- Verify pipeline steps and versioning on service such as GitLab or BitBucket.
